Did you know that many soaps and shampoos use sodium laureth sulfate (SLS) or sodium lauryl ether sulfate (SLES) as inexpensive and very effective foaming agents?

Did you also know that SLS and SLES have scientifically been linked to skin irritations? (For example, see Contact Dermatitis. 2003 Jan;48(1):26-32.)

Did you know that some products containing SLES have been found to also contain traces (up to 279 ppm) of 1,4-dioxane, “a probable human carcinogen”?

Did you know that it is not necessary to use SLS and SLES in body care products to obtain a good lather?
