Synthetic fragrances produce a strong, long lasting, wall of fragrance. Just like mono sound. It’s loud, brash, but has no “depth.”

 

All-natural fragrances using essential oils are more layered. Like stereo sound. You hear that drumbeat in the background, a violin in front. It has more depth.

 

All-natural fragrance blends are layered. You experience the top notes first, then middle notes, then the longer lingering base notes.

 

Take our Patchouli Lavender Face Wash for example. The fragrance is made up of Patchouli oil (a base note), Lavender oil (top/middle note), and Bergamot fruit oil (top note).

 

Under the shower you will experience the combined fragrance. But the Lavender and Bergamot will be most prominent first. The Bergamot, as a top note will disappear. The Lavender and Patchouli will remain prominent.
