LET'S TALK TRANSPARENCY - your peek behind the scenes with our Australian Master Formulator, Dr. Mike
When we thought we were safe. Essential oil adulteration is on the increase.
It’s no secret. Essential oil adulteration of the more expensive essential oils is now common practice among suppliers.
But we see this trend now among the cheaper essential oils. Historically, adulteration never occurred with orange oil, mandarin oil, and lemon oils. But that’s all changed. Unfortunately, because of the relatively simple chemical composition and tremendous price differences among citrus species, citrus adulteration is becoming commonplace. Skilled blenders can make blends that are almost indistinguishable from authentic oils.
So, what can you, as a consumer, do about this? I would advise you to buy only from professional suppliers. Those who know the business, and their oils. And those who insist on proper Certificates of Analysis (CoA) for every batch of oil they purchase.
